Our Vision

Our vision is to transform lives, empower and support local residents within the community and our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of the community through a range of multi-purpose cultural, social and learning activities

Our Mission

Highway Hope (registered charity no: 1151846) was founded in 2012 as the charity arm of the long established New Covenant Church. Our aims are to improve the lives of local residents of Manchester (especially Levenshulme, Longsight and Gorton), and especially those who are isolated and vulnerable.

Our Values

Highway Hope strongly believes in:

  • the right of people to have a life of their own,
  • the right of people to expect effective support in their daily lives, and
  • the importance of a safe environment where people can share personal experiences with honesty and acceptance.

Highway Hope sees itself as:

  • Caring and respecting people’s individuality,
  • Promoting people’s rights,
  • Enabling and empowering people to take action,
  • Maintaining people’s confidentiality (subject to safeguarding issues),
  • Valuing the client and their contribution to the service,
  • Non-condemnatory, judging situations not people,
  • Independent of statutory services,
  • Seeking and gaining the respect of professional colleagues,
  • Working consultatively and collaboratively,
  • Open and communicative, and
  • Knowledgeable, with a “can-do” approach to problem-solving.
